One Year of Change

One Year of Change – and Pride in the Journey

It’s now been a little over a year since I took the step to make a major life change. Many people might think I “cheated” by having a gastric bypass surgery, but the truth is that the surgery is just a tool – an important step toward a new life.

For me, it’s been about changing my entire behavior. Becoming aware of diet, exercise, and overall health. Learning about nutrition, understanding different forms of training, and building sustainable daily routines. It’s the small daily actions that make the difference – going to the gym several times a week, taking power walks with the dogs even in the rain, eating small, healthy portions, and understanding what calories, protein, fat, and carbohydrates really mean.

For many, this might seem obvious, but for me it was a wake-up call and a fresh start in life. It has required commitment and patience, but also conscious choices every single day.

Now, my focus is on maintaining my current weight and continuing on the same path. And I can say it proudly: YES, I am proud to have lost around 33 kilos. This is just the beginning, but the journey so far has already transformed my life in so many ways.
