The King of Rioja.
Back in 1991, we were in Alicante when I spotted this beautiful bottle in a small shop. It cost the equivalent of about 100 SEK. When we got back to Sweden, I went to Systembolaget—and there it was, just added to the range, priced at the same 100 SEK. I was immediately taken by this classic Rioja.
The years passed, and I never returned to it. Until now.
For my 60th birthday, we picked up a bottle again and enjoyed it with a perfectly cooked beef tenderloin. Just as I remembered—balanced, honest, and true to its roots. Full body, tannins and acidity in perfect harmony.
