I went outside to look for the northern lights. The sky was clear and deep blue, but there was nothing in sight.
Then I turned around, and to the north I saw the dance begin. I went back inside to get my wife and the dogs. Together we stood and watched as the northern lights moved across the sky, slowly at first, then stronger and more alive.
For almost 30 minutes the sky put on a beautiful show. Then she drifted away, the light faded, and the night returned to darkness.
